Et si votre passion vous permettait de changer le monde ? C’est exactement ce qu’ont fait des milliers d’adolescents depuis la première édition du concours Google Science Fair, en 2011. C’est la quatrième fois que nous accueillons ce concours, de façon à encourager la prochaine génération de scientifiques et d’ingénieurs. De la Russie à l’Australie, de l’Inde au Canada, les finalistes de cette année (âgés de 13 à 18 ans) sont déjà bien engagés sur la voie de l’excellence.

Cette année, nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer que Guillaume Rolland, originaire de Nantes, fait partie des 15 finalistes internationaux avec son projet de réveil olfactif. Il permet aux personnes souffrant de déficiences sensorielles de se réveiller autrement. 

Voici quelques exemples d’autres projets qui ont attiré notre attention : Kenneth Shinozuka, de New York, souhaite venir en aide aux personnes atteintes de la maladie d’Alzheimer et a mis au point un 

petit capteur portable pour comprendre l’une des causes de l’errance causée par la maladie d’Alzheimer. Samuel Burrow, du Royaume-Uni, souhaite améliorer l’environnement en réduisant la pollution et a créé un revêtement spécial qui réduit les déchets chimiques de l’atmosphère une fois soumis à la lumière ambiante. 

Quelle est l’étape suivante pour nos jeunes scientifiques ? 

Le mois prochain, ils se retrouveront en Californie au siège de Google pour concourir par catégorie d'âge et pour le Grand Prix du Google Science Fair. Le concours finira en beauté avec une cérémonie de récompenses qui sera retransmise en direct sur la chaîne YouTube dédiée et sur notre site Web.

" A Gun, a gun, my Kingdom for a gun "

This story was written and directed by Duccio Tessari and tries it's level best to find closure in and among the Italian Westerns made more popular by Clint Easewood. Although it's interesting, it falls short. Still it holds it's own as B-Type and has some merit there. The story as one follows it, has a Gun-Man called 'Angel-Eyes' and is better known as Ringo (Montgomery Wood) for the film " A Pistol for Ringo " Following a shoot-out with some killers who have come gunning for him, Ringo ends up in jail, at the same time, a gang of Mexican Outlaws rob the bank and kill a few of the citizens and take refuse in a Fortress hacienda. The sheriff has to make a deal with Ringo in order to save some hostages and recover the loot. Infiltrating the gang led by a Bandit name Fernando Sancho, (Sancho) From the beginning the movie is a tests of skills between the bad guys and Ringo. Some gun play, some physical confrontation, some Comic situations, laughter and small drama, but none of which is sustained. All in all a good movie for the audience, if they don't expect too much. Entertaining for a B-Picture. ***

An offbeat study of the adult games that men and women play filtered through the actions of two seemingly innocent Japanese school kids, Satsuki and Takuya, two 17-year-olds who first meet practising kendo but later fall head over heels in love. It all starts with Takuya stealing Satsuki's belongings like socks, secretly photographing her beautiful legs, and... When Satsuki discovers this, she takes revenge by dominating him and forcing him to watch her having sex with a schoolmate...

Review :

good

This movie is interesting in a bizarre way. While it would be categorized as being an S&M film, it really isn't. It's really just about a really depressed teenager named Hidaka (Mizuhashi Kenji). Her is a nerd and is short, but somehow or another, a foxy girl in his sword fighting class, Satsuki (Tsugumi), falls in love with him. After they have sex for the first time, she finds out that he is really in love with her because- not because of her- but because of the smell of her feet and the noise her pee makes when she excretes (!). But does she break up with him? No, she just decides to let him give her foot a slimy slurp and listen to her as she carries out her extremely slutty "appointments" with her "normal" boyfriends. This leads to a hugely bizarre ending that not only (SPOILERS) gives new meaning to the expression "go jump off a bridge", but leaves room for a sequel! Not that I wouldn't watch it, I would. But this movie is strange, because these two have some really strange connection but carry it out in a completely different way. Think "Secretary" Japanese style, and not nearly as extreme. I recommend this film for a few watches, as you do care for the characters and situations at hand, but don't go in expecting gore or laughs, or something normal for that matter.

Review :

The Skirt That Did Them In

The Beast Of The City finds Walter Huston cast as a crusading and honest cop, possibly too rigidly honest. His character is a whole lot like Kirk Douglas's detective in Detective Story that would come out a generation later.

The film also borrows a lot from westerns at the time. Huston's unknown western city is ruled by gangster Jean Hersholt who is apparently untouchable as far as the law is concerned. A whole lot like real life gangsters Al Capone and Lucky Luciano who were coming into prominence.

Huston's family life is secure enough, wife Dorothy Peterson, a few kids among them a young Mickey Rooney. He also has his younger and weaker brother Wallace Ford living with them. Ford's got a real good deal, no rent and he apparently chases a lot of skirts. That proves to be his downfall and eventually Huston's.

The skirt that did them in belonged to Jean Harlow. Jean was never a better mantrap in her career than she is The Beast Of The City. Wallace Ford turns out to be putty in her hands.

Also note another good performance in The Beast Of The City is that of Tully Marshall who plays Hersholt's lawyer. The word shyster was invented for lawyers like Marshall, but he's good to have on your side especially if you're guilty as sin.

The climax is an unforgettable one and one more typical to a western than a modern drama. It's what makes The Beast Of The City a classic that is too rarely seen today.

Review :

Low-budget, but it works

I was surprised by film. Generally, I only see gay low-budget indie film as show of solidarity for the rest of the community. Often, I'll have to turn it off after ten or fifteen minutes. This was clearly not "Citizen Kane," but it wasn't half-bad either.

The performances were kind of a mixed bag. There were a few that I felt were pretty strong, and a few that were weak. At least two of the actors started in one category and ended in the other. Some of the scenes with the actors paired off worked really well, and were probably the main reason the film works.

The technical detail of the film are generally great. Even though clearly shot on DV, it avoids looking washed-out at all times. The camera is fairly locked down, but that's appropriate, given the material.

The biggest flaw, as has been mentioned, is the script. There are far too many instances where a line or exchange just lands with a THUD, and the scenes that work are despite the material, not because of it.

Still, it's better than a lot of low-budget gay cinema.

The movie skids into some pretty sizable plot holes ..............

"Johnny Skidmarks" is uneven to the extreme. This sometimes black comedy, sometimes thriller, sometimes noir, sometimes violent movie, teeters on the edge of being either entertainment or nonsense. The plot is initially interesting. A police freelance photographer sidelines taking blackmail photographs of unsuspecting clients with a planted hooker. While completely disassociating himself from the victims, Peter Gallagher plays the role of the photographer very low key. Even more low key is his on again off again romance with Francis McDormand. Her role seems like it belongs in a different movie, and adds nothing to the already well stretched plot. In the end the wheels finally come off regarding John Lithgrow's good to bad transformation, and the concluding torture scene turns into one gigantic plot hole. - MERK

Vikram hopes to befriend Arun, get him cured and medically discharged, and ensure that he is hanged.

Review :

A long journey of action, drama and music

Dilwale is a good film, except for the similar flaws that most films of the 90's had.

Story is about an efficient cop who is give the task of handling a mentally deranged man's case. The cop soon realizes that the convict is innocent and does all that he can to prove the latter's innocence and bring the culprits to book.

The music is noteworthy, with Kumar Sanu's melodious voice in most tracks. There are many a song in this film. Some action sequences are good, bit of overacting on Sunil Shetty's part, but otherwise he and Ajay Devgn are cool. They did make a good pair ion this film.

The flaw - Some scenes are meaningless, at some places the editing is not smooth, and some sequences are simple exaggerated. Also some of the songs make the film unnecessarily lengthy.

Watch it but watch the time!
